When I learned that Samantha + Lucas were expecting their first child, I was thrilled. When Samantha asked me to photograph the next steps in their life, I was overjoyed. It is a honor and privilege to photograph major milestones for my clients – clients who become friends. I first met Samantha + Lucas for their engagement session a few years ago. Then, I photographed their beautiful wedding day two years ago. And now, I get to be a part of their baby story and I cannot wait to meet him or her! They are such a wonderfully sweet couple who will be amazingly loving parents.

When I was contacted by my friend Regina to photograph her extended family, I smiled. I absolutely love to work with grandparents! The unmistakable look between two people who have loved one another for so long is always fabulous to see. The Naiman family did not disappoint! I was blessed to work with them and I am honored to have been a part of these moments. Time and life move beyond our control, so being able to slow down and capture life is why I am a photographer. So often we take our families for granted. We take time for granted. And we assume we’ll always have tomorrow. I don’t care who is behind the camera, but my hope is that every family asks someone to photograph them – to capture their love like the Naiman family did on a warm fall morning.

All weddings are beautiful, but there’s just something about an outdoor gathering. Set against the backdrop of a picturesque historical farm site, Anna + Kolby danced into the night. The day was filled with family, fun, vintage elements and love. When I first met with Anna and her mother, Kimm, I knew they wanted the day to be unique, with personality and character. Antique furniture, buffet tables, window panes and doors. A cake to “die for” (it was even delivered in a shiny delivery hearse), a great aunt’s corn recipe, and mason jar toasts made the evening perfect. Thank you to Anna + Kolby for sharing your beautiful day of love and family with me. Come back soon to see Anna + Kolby’s photobooth shots! So much fun!!

Well, it’s about time that I get back into the swing of things… business-speaking that is. Since being very LARGELY pregnant and having our son, this session was my first. I couldn’t have asked for a better family to work with. I absolutely love this family and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful late summer/early fall morning. The boys seemed to almost be enjoying themselves (or they faked it well) and all of their smiles were priceless! Thanks again, Schmid family, for allowing me to work with your gorgeous family! I love you all!!
