There are moments in life when all you can do is smile — smile because someone who deserves happiness has found it. I have known miss jamie since she was my high school student. She is passionate and caring and has a heart full of love. Unfortunately, life hasn’t always dealt her with a fair hand. I’ve watched her walk through struggles for a very long time…holidays alone, peers who don’t understand, foster care, a failed marriage, homelessness and the list goes on. But then, one day jamie met cody and everything changed. Their love story is truly touching and their love for Christ is inspiring. Sometimes we don’t understand the struggle, we question the path and we doubt if life will ever change. And then, God touches our lives and we can finally see His plan clearly. This is their story. Thank you jamie+cody (+david) for allowing me to be a part of it…

kandi+david // the wedding
You may have noticed that the blog has been extremely quiet lately….but I finally have something to share! This spring I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of kandi+david. They’ve been patiently waiting for an extended preview of their gallery and here it is! Thank you, again, for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful day (in the middle of a crazy dance recital-filled weekend)! It was a beautiful wedding and the setting was perfect!

amanda + eddie // the wedding
Sometimes you can just look at a couple and you see it. The love, the joy, the way they see one another, they way they breathe differently when they are near one another. All of these are true for amanda+eddie. They are a couple that is a joy to be around. They make me smile and so does their easy going love for one another. Throughout their wedding day I watched the tears in eddie’s eyes and the smile on amanda’s face and I smiled, every time. There’s just something that warms your heart when you’re near a couple like this. Thank you, again, amanda+eddie, for allowing me to be a part of your love story.

shelby+robert // a romantic wedding
Romantic. Elegant. Vintage. Classic. ~All are words that I would use to describe the wedding of shelby+robert. Sometimes it is difficult for me to explain how a wedding feels, but I try to do it through my photographs. I look for ways to capture both personality and the tiny moments – those glimpses and other fleeting moments that create a vignette to remember. One of my absolute favorite moments was when the groom saw the bride for the first time. I had tears in my eyes as I witnessed the love he felt for his bride-to-be and the emotion that overcame him. I don’t photograph many fall weddings, but when I do I am thankful that they’re as beautiful as shelby+robert’s! Thank you, again, for allowing me to be a part of your gorgeous wedding!

staci+dustin // the wedding
I had the privilege of meeting staci+dustin a couple of years ago at another wedding and fate brought us back together when they spotted me at a wedding fair. Ironically, I wasn’t even there as a vendor but rather as a big sister! It turned out that I was available to capture their Easter weekend wedding. It was such an enjoyable day filled with laughter and fun wedding party members. Thanks again to staci+dustin for allowing me to be a part of your amazing day!

•connie+doug // the wedding
On the last beautiful day of the year before winter’s bitter cold arrived, connie+doug wed at Wessel’s Living History Farm. It was a gorgeous day – a gorgeous couple, a gorgeous family, and a gorgeous service. A small group of family and close friends gathered to witness this couple’s second chance at love. What moved me the most was watching connie+doug’s children during the ceremony. The smiled and wiped tears from their eyes as the couple exchanged vows. All weddings are about love, but this one felt like a true celebration of family, love and everything life has to offer!

•ally+rodney // the wedding
There once was a young girl I knew who worked at the local Pizza Hut with my little sister, we called her Tink. She was quirky and energetic and full of life. That rambunctious teenager has turned into a gorgeous woman, wonderful mother, and vivaciously strong individual. I recently had the honor of being a part of her special day. Last weekend Ally+Rod walked down the aisle in a small church located at Wessel’s Living History Farm near York. The deep colors of peacock feathers adorned the girls and the decor. The day was a breathtaking mix of joy and emotion. The presence–both stinging and comforting–of a lost father could be felt at every moment. I’ve never cried at a wedding before Ally+Rod’s. I’ve never had tears streaming down my cheeks behind the camera until this one. Their day was as perfect as it could be and I am so thankful they chose me…

•josh + janet \\ the wedding
Just like every couple has an individual style, every wedding has a unique personality. Josh + Janet’s wedding was a lighthearted day filled with family, laughter, and fun! From the morning prep and bridesmaids playing hangman, to the evening reception and a polka band – every moment was a joy! Working with such a fun couple (and wedding party) truly makes my job a breeze. Thank you to Josh + Janet for allowing me to photograph your amazing day!

•anna + kolby
All weddings are beautiful, but there’s just something about an outdoor gathering. Set against the backdrop of a picturesque historical farm site, Anna + Kolby danced into the night. The day was filled with family, fun, vintage elements and love. When I first met with Anna and her mother, Kimm, I knew they wanted the day to be unique, with personality and character. Antique furniture, buffet tables, window panes and doors. A cake to “die for” (it was even delivered in a shiny delivery hearse), a great aunt’s corn recipe, and mason jar toasts made the evening perfect. Thank you to Anna + Kolby for sharing your beautiful day of love and family with me.

Come back soon to see Anna + Kolby’s photobooth shots! So much fun!!
